Book Event Briefs Through October

Autumn is my favorite season- crisp air, stunning foliage, and that deeply rooted ‘back-to-school’ energy. That last is a good thing, as it’s been launch season for Hard Cider. Checkout these highlights of the last two months!

Leland, MI- My first event at the Leland Township Public Library. Hard cider tasting supplied by Amoritas Vinyards, and books from Leelanau Books!

Northport, MI- Leelanau Uncaged debut for Hard Cider. In cooperation with Dog Ears Books, this all-village arts and music festival was the perfect occasion to bring Hard Cider home to Northport. Special treat were visits from friends and the Ann Arbor based band Treetown Swingtet. All were taken to Tandem Ciders for a celebration!

Chicago, IL- I joined fellow authors Michelle Cox, Iris Waichler, Francie Arenson, and Linda Gartz at an American Association of University Women book event at the Harold Washington Library. The topic: “Family Stories in Fiction and Memoir”

Traverse City, MI. – Fun afternoon at Horizon Books- we sold out, and Tandem Ciders of Suttons Bay supplied a hard cider tasting!

Lansing, MI- Women’s National Book Association- Lansing chapter. I had the true pleasure of presenting with authors Irene Butter, and Ann Pearlman. The common themes of trauma and resilience in families truly resonated.

Dexter, MI- I gathered with friends and family at the Jolly Pumpkin for some cider and snacks and a big thank you from me for everyone's support.

Portland, OR- A wonderful event with authors Donna Cameron, Cathy Zane, and Lisa Reddick at Annie Bloom Books. “Courageous Pursuits” covered themes in our books as well as our own careers as authors. She Writes Press author Ellen Notbohm joined in the fun.

There were sights seen in Portland. Wine was tasted!!

Seattle, WA- The “Courageous Pursuits” panel traveled to Secret Garden Books in Ballard for another wonderful evening. This time SWP a

uthor Leslie Johansen Nack came out!

More sights were seen, and biking and hiking happened!

Carefree, AZ

Finally, a two-day author retreat with 65 authors who are published by my publisher! So full of connections, learning, enjoyment. Jesmyn Ward's fantastic writing workshop, industry leaders providing state of the art info, and my participation with such outstanding colleagues in the author ambassador role.. culminating in a fire circle reading by 42 authors!!! What a weekend!
