Her Legacy is Launched


A one-year anniversary from date of publication is fairly momentous in the life of a book. It loosely marks the end of an arc of intense promotion and touring and important sales and review data. For an author, the opportunity to reflect on how readers have received a work is both meaningful to future publishing efforts, and a chance to contemplate how goals for a book’s publication have been met. A year ago, I set forth my reasons for writing Even in Darkness, related to the legacy of the Holocaust, in this Huffington Post piece . But over the last year, I’ve learned more and more that it is the legacy of the woman who is embodied in the main character of Even in Darkness, Kläre Kohler, based on the life my great aunt, that flows through me as I speak to audiences, and that resonates with my readers. So this year, I’ve written a another piece to honor Kläre, and to honor the readers and reviewers who have given Even in Darkness such a wonderful welcome. To read, click here
